Yelp gave me this place on a recent stay in Canon City. I was there on a Sunday and most stuff was closed in honor of the Sabbath. I ordered the burger with the jalapenos, and my wife had a BLT. She tried the onion rings and I got the french fries. Everything was pretty average. The onion rings tasted exactly like something you'd buy from the frozen food section and heat up in the oven. As did the french fries. The burger was maybe slightly above average. It was inexpensive, however, and a decent alternative to McDonalds or BK. I would definitely not go as far as to say it rocked, but if eating in a 50s-style diner enhances your meal then this could very well rate a 4 out of 5.

Never got to try the food because they close at 7 p.m. on a weeknight! Why bother even staying open past lunch if you aren't really open during dinner hours?

Good for breakfast. Try the Mexican Omelet with Green Chili!

At first I was freaked out bc this place shares a Shell Gas Station plaza. We went in anyway and o had the best damn fried chicken I have ever tasted. Spouse got patty melt and liked it. Avoid the mashed potatoes as they are powdered (the waitress told me to avoid, which was quite nice of her) and also avoid the stuffing. You must try the cherry cider that's handmade by local Italians who apparently are nine thousand years old and have perfected this cider technique. And our waitress was a dream. Four stars if the side dishes had been better and five if the place wasn't attached to a gas station. Its worth the stop for the cherry cider alone.

This places rocks!!!! We drove by, stopped in and eat and are we ever glad we did!!!! Great Diner food and decor. The burgers we had were some of the best in years. They have great deals. We took advantage of the get one burger meal and get another for a quarter. Can't beat that. I would highly recommend this diner to anyone traveling thru Canon City.

Good food. Nice people. Nice Diner Environment. I had Chicken Strips and Fries. They also gave me a hot roll. Price was reasonable. No complaints. Although, they wern't very busy, so the waitress didn't even think we were there for the first few minutes lol.

Friendly service, clean, good music, but the burger meat was a bit dry from frozen formed patties yet the nicely grilled bun made up for it. Fries home cut and pretty good.

I stopped at big daddy's on the way to royal gorge. The atmosphere was a cute 50s diner feel. The service was friendly but rather slow and disorganized. We had several different people waiting on us. The food was alright but nothing special. Then u was inexpensive but still a little much for the quality and service.

This is a review for their breakfast. Definitely not impressed!! The waitress was very friendly but the food was mediocre at best and very overpriced!! There are many other much better breakfast options in town.

Had lunch here today. Nice large, clean restaurant with mediocre 1950's decor with great music. The menu was large and offered a wide array of diner food. My husband and I each had burgers. They were okay - definitely not great but they were fine. I have no complaints about them. We split a shake which was also good. We ordered our fries well done and they were absolutely perfect. I recommend the fries. Big Daddy's Diner offers pretty good specials as well. Tuesday is the day to be there. They offer .25 on your second burger. Good place to go for a lunch.

I thought this place was great for breakfast! Great portions, food came out hot. Waitress warmed coffee mugs, so coffee stayed hot for long while. Great idea, no one has ever done that at any place I've been to before.
